Anna Kajaste-Rudnitski

Anna Kajaste-Rudnitski’s training and education are in molecular virology and innate immunity. After her PhD training at the Pasteur Institute, Paris, France, she joined the San Raffaele Scientific Institute, OSR, Milan, Italy, in 2006 as a post-doc to work on Influenza and HIV. She then joined the San Raffaele Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy (SR-Tiget), OSR, in Milan as Project Leader in 2012, promoted Group Leader in July 2016. Her lab studies the molecular mechanisms of host-vector interplay and innate immunity in the context hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) gene therapy and autoinflammatory diseases. Their long-term goal is to provide insight into how pathogen recognition and consequent innate immune signaling may affect human HSC and hematopoietic development in vivo, with potential broad range clinical impact in the field of gene therapy as well as to shed light on how these same pathways may contribute to autoimmune and inflammatory pathologies.
