Moran Furman received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the Israel Institute of Technology, where he studied visual motion processing during eye movements in the laboratory of Dr. Moshe Gur. He then conducted postdoctoral research at Yale University in the laboratories of Drs. Xiao-Jing Wang, Michael Crair and Hal Blumenfeld, where he used computational modeling, electrophysiology, and optogenetics to study neural circuits in the fields of decision making, visual development, and epilepsy. In 2014, Moran joined Cell Press as a scientific editor at Neuron, and has been the Editor of Trends in Neurosciences since July 2017.
