Dr. Sam Rose received his PhD from Emory University in Atlanta under the mentorship of Dr. Ellen Hess. There, he studied the molecular and systems neuroscience basis of abnormal movements in the movement disorder dystonia. For his postdoctoral studies at Duke University, he worked with Dr. Marc Caron and studied the functional consequences of dopamine receptor signaling in the context of basic behavioral regulation, as well as the mechanism(s) of action of antipsychotic medications. He joined Cell Press in 2019 as a scientific editor for Neuron and has enjoyed shaping the expansive neuroscience community through the many roles of an editor.
