Richard M. Ransohoff received AB in Literature and Languages from Bard College and MD with honors from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine (CWRU-SOM). After residency training in Internal Medicine and Neurology he performed postdoctoral research in the Dept of Molecular Biology and Microbiology at CWRU-SOM. A staff neurologist at the Cleveland Clinic’s Mellen Center for MS Treatment and Research (1984-2014), he was cited in the “Best Doctors” compendium continuously from 1996-2014. He directed the Cleveland Clinic’s Neuroinflammation Research Center (2005-2014) and his research in chemokine action in the CNS was recognized by the John Dystel Prize for MS Research (2012). As Senior Research Fellow and VP, Neuroimmunology at Biogen (2014-date), his research interests focus on neuroinflammation in neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental disease.
