Schwartz holds an endowed professorial chair in Neuroimmunology, at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel and is the president of the International Society of Neuroimmunology (2016-2018). She is the world pioneer discovering the pivotal role of the systemic immune cells in supporting brain plasticity and repair, having redefined brain-immune system relationships, and developed immunotherapies for neurodegenerative diseases. She published ~300 scientific articles, many in leading journals, with an H index of 99 (Google Scholar). Schwartz received numerous prestigious awards for her seminal discoveries, including lately the Rappaport award. She was twice granted Advanced European Research Commission awards (2008-2013; 2017-2022).
