Dr. Noam Stern-Ginossar received her Ph.D. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, studying the functions of virally encoded miRNAs. She conducted her postdoctoral work with Jonathan Weissman at UCSF, CA studying the coding capacity of viruses using ribosome profiling. Since 2014 she is a Senior Lecturer at the department of molecular genetics in the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel.
Her Lab studies the creative strategies viruses use to manipulate their host cells and the range of host defense mechanisms. The lab work is focused on deciphering the roles of viral factors during infection, as well as how viruses interface with and usurp cellular pathways to control gene expression.Click here to view information about the lab.
