Prof. Bruno Correia is Full Professor of Bioengineering at EPFL and head of the Laboratory of Protein Design and Immunoengineering (LPDI). His research lies at the intersection of structural biology, protein engineering and artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on the computational design of novel proteins and molecular interactions for applications in immunoengineering, synthetic biology, vaccines and drug discovery. He trained in computational biology and protein design at the University of Washington and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research in chemical biology at The Scripps Research Institute. He joined EPFL in 2015 and was promoted to Full Professor in 2026. His research has received several distinctions, including ERC Starting and Consolidator Grants and the University Latsis Prize. He also serves as Director of EPFL’s Doctoral Program in Biotechnology and Bioengineering.
