Dr. Gao is a Professor in the School of Life Sciences, Peking University and a member of the Peking-Tsinghua Joint Center for Life Sciences and Beijing Advanced Center for RNA Biology. His laboratory works on molecular machines, using cryo-EM-based integrative approaches. The lab is currently focusing on two major topics: ribosome biogenesis and translation regulation. He received a B.S. degree in Biochemistry from Peking University, and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from State University of New York at Albany. After a postdoc training at Columbia University, he first joined Tsinghua University as a faculty member and moved to Peking University in 2017.
