Beverly L. Davidson

Beverly L. Davidson, is Director of The Raymond G. Perelman Center for Cellular and Molecular Therapeutics, the Chief Scientific Strategy Officer, and holds the Arthur V. Meigs Chair in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She is Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Dr. Davidson received her B.S. in Biology from the Nebraska Wesleyan University, and her Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from the University of Michigan. 

Recent honors include election into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (2017), the National Academy of Medicine (2019) and elected Vice President of the American Society of Gene and Cell Therapy (2019). Other honors include the 2009 Mathilde Solowey Award (NIH), the 2011 S.J. DeArmond Lecturer (AANP), the 2011 Presidential Lecture, and member of Scientific Advisory Board of the Hereditary Disease Foundation (2012-present); Chair, Electorate Nominating Committee, Medical Sciences Section (AAAS); appointed to the National Advisory Council, NINDS (2014); In 2015 she was awarded the Leslie Gehry Brenner Prize for Innovation in Science from the Hereditary Disease Foundation, and was appointed to the Medical Research Advisory Board of the National Ataxia Foundation.
