Ping Chen graduated from Xiamen University and had a position in National University of Singapore before she joined DICP. Her primary research interests include the materials development for hydrogen storage and heterogeneous catalysis. She pioneered the research in the amide-hydride system for hydrogen storage and the alkali/alkaline earth hydride-transition metal composite catalyst system for NH3 synthesis. She has more than 170 peer-reviewed journal articles, delivered over 80 invited/keynote speeches. She serves the community as a member of Executive Committee of IEA-Hydrogen, advisory board of ChemSusChem and J Phys Chem., associate editor of JEC, meeting chair of MRS Spring 2011 and Gordon Research Conference etc.
