Myriam Gorospe studied Biology in Madrid (Spain) and earned her Ph.D. in Cell and Developmental Biology from the SUNY Albany, USA. After post-doctoral training at the National Institute on Aging (NIA) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), she became a Principal Investigator in NIA/NIH in 1998. In the Laboratory of Genetics and Genomics (NIA/NIH), which she directs since 2014, she studies post-transcriptional gene regulation in mammalian models of cellular stress, senescence, and aging. Her program has a long-standing focus on RNA-binding proteins and noncoding RNAs that influence gene expression programs in aging physiology and pathology.
