Allison Herman

Dr. Herman earned her Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biosciences from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, where she researched how RNA-binding proteins control inflammation in vascular disease. As a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Gorospe’s lab at the National Institute on Aging, she expanded her research to include aging and cellular senescence, identifying senescence-regulatory miRNAs and developing models of vascular aging. In 2024, she became a Stadtman Tenure-Track Investigator in the Laboratory of Cardiovascular Science, where she leads the Vascular Aging Biology Unit and studies how modifying senescent vascular cells can enhance healthspan across tissues and organs affected by aging.
