- Amber Mueller, Scientific editor, Cell Metabolism

Amber received her PhD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where she studied muscle biology and disease. Her work focused on engineering a xenograft model of the genetically complex muscular dystrophy, FSHD. She went on to pursue a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School, studying the epigenetic causes and consequences of aging in skeletal muscle, one of the body's most regenerative and metabolically demanding tissues. In addition to muscle biology and aging expertise, Amber has interdisciplinary training in immunology, neuroscience, and bioinformatics. Amber joined Cell Metabolism in 2021.
