Tatiana (Tanya) Petrova is a Professor in the Department of Fundamental Oncology at the University of Lausanne. She obtained her degree in chemistry from Moscow State University and completed her PhD at the University of Geneva. She conducted postdoctoral research with Linda Van Eldik at Northwestern University and with Kari Alitalo at the University of Helsinki, where she investigated mechanisms of lymphangiogenesis. Tanya established her research group in Helsinki before moving to Lausanne in 2008.
The laboratory focuses on the molecular and cellular basis of endothelial cell heterogeneity, and on the organ‑ and disease‑specific functions of lymphatic and blood vessels, including their interactions with immune cells. Current systems of interest include the intestine, lymphoid organs, adipose tissue, and colorectal cancer.
