Kenya Honda is a Professor of Medicine at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan, and a leading expert in microbiome research. His work focuses on the interaction between gut microbiota and host physiology, with pioneering discoveries on how specific commensal bacteria regulate immune responses. Honda has made significant contributions to the development of microbiota-based therapeutics, including the identification of bacterial consortia that modulate T cell function. He also directs the WPI Human Biology–Microbiome–Quantum Research Center (Bio2Q), advancing interdisciplinary approaches to health and disease. He serves on the advisory boards of Vedanta Biosciences, 4BIO Capital, and Taxa.
