Professor Siew Ng is Croucher Professor in Medical Sciences and Associate Dean (Research) of Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is also Director for the Microbiota I-Center. Her main research interests include development of microbial diagnostics and therapeutics in various human diseases including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), colorectal cancer and autism. She has pioneered studies in epidemiology, genetics and pathogenesis of IBD in Asia-Pacific and globally.
Prof Ng has published over 400 papers in leading journals, including Nature, Nature Medicine and Lancet. She was elected as Foreign Member of Academia Europaea. She was the first female clinician-scientist being awarded New Cornerstone Investigator in China. She was named Highly cited Researcher by Clarivate for 5 consecutive years since 2020.
