Rebecca worked as a research assistant for Sylvie Urbé at The University of Liverpool, working on deubiquitylases and degradation pathways, before moving to the Max Delbrück Centre in Berlin to carry out her PhD in the lab of Oliver Rocks. There she focused on the regulation of Rho GTPases and by chance ended up back with ubiquitin. For her postdoctoral work with Thomas Brabletz in Erlangen, she worked on the role and regulation of the EMT-inducing transcription factor ZEB1 in metastasis. She joined Molecular Cell in January 2020 based in London, and has loved getting to know the mitochondrial field, and creating metabolism and mitochondria special issues.
