Lélia Delamarre is a Distinguished Scientist and Director in Cancer Immunology Discovery at Genentech. Her group is interested in understanding the mechanisms by which the immune system recognizes and eliminates cancer with the goal of developing novel approaches to increase effective tumor-specific T cell responses. Her main areas of focus are 1) Identification and prediction of the tumor antigens driving effective anti-tumor immunity. 2) Understanding the mechanistic basis by which vaccines induce CD8 T cell responses to inform the design of improved cancer vaccine platforms, 3) Characterizing the requirements for vaccine-induced T cells to control tumor progression.
