Renato Ostuni is Group Leader at the San Raffaele Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy (SR-Tiget) and Associate Professor of Tissue Biology at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan. Early in his career, he established regulatory principles of inflammatory responses at the biochemical, cell biology, and chromatin levels (Nature 2009, Cell 2011 & 2013). The Ostuni lab combines advanced genomics and functional studies to dissect how microenvironmental factors shape the diverse functions of innate immune cells in homeostasis and disease, with the goal of developing treatments for genetic diseases and cancers. Prof. Ostuni has published in top scientific journals and won major awards, including two consecutive ERC grants. He is a passionate climber and ultra-trail runner.
