Bosiljka Tasic, Allen Institute for Brain Science, USA
Bosiljka Tasic

Bosiljka Tasic joined the Allen Institute for Brain Science in Seattle in late 2011, where she is currently the Associate Director of Molecular Genetics. There, she leads an effort toward comprehensive molecular analysis of neuronal identity in the mouse brain. Her current focus is on defining cell type diversity in the mouse cortex, both within and across cortical areas, and its implications for cortical circuit functions. She has a long-standing interest in the development of novel genetic tools to enable access to specific cell types for their functional characterization. Before joining the Allen Institute, Bosiljka completed her postdoctoral training with Liqun Luo at Stanford University, Ph.D. with Tom Maniatis at Harvard University, and received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Belgrade, Serbia.
