Helen Goodridge is an immunologist with specific expertise in innate immunity and myelopoiesis. Her research program is currently focused on the differentiation and function of myeloid and other immune cells in the context of infection, cancer, aging and neurodegenerative disease. Her lab has defined pathways and mechanisms of myeloid cell differentiation, demonstrated how commensal and pathogenic microbes influence myeloid progenitor differentiation and program myeloid cell function, and shown that rejuvenation of the peripheral hematopoietic system reduces neuroinflammation and rescues cognitive decline in old mice. Dr. Goodridge is a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and a member of the Board of Governors Regenerative Medicine Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Since 2019, she has also served as Director of the American Association of Immunologists’ annual Introductory Course in Immunology.
