Yan Xiong is a Professor at the Haixia Institute of Science and Technology, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, China. He received his Ph.D. in Plant Physiology and Molecular Biology from Iowa State University and conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on the Target of Rapamycin (TOR) signaling pathway and its roles in integration of nutrient, energy, and hormonal cues to regulate plant growth, development, circadian timing, and stress responses. Dr. Xiong has published influential work in Nature, Molecular Cell, Developmental Cell, and PNAS, uncovering unexpected roles of TOR in transcriptional control, nutrient sensing, and growth–defense balance. His laboratory aims to dissect TOR signaling networks to advance fundamental plant biology and guide strategies for crop resilience and sustainable agriculture.
