Michelle Muzzio, Editor-in-chief, Chem Circularity
bio-dekaris

Michelle is passionate about translating lab-based innovations into real-world solutions to global challenges. After earning her undergraduate degree in chemistry and English literature from Iona University, a primarily undergraduate institution, Michelle recognized the importance of language in science communication and education. During her PhD at Brown University, she championed research in sustainable chemistry applications of nanoparticle synthesis and published on biomass conversion, electrocatalysis, the degradation of industrial contaminants, and chemical engineering. Since joining Cell Press over 6 years ago, Michelle has worked across the physical science and sustainability journals, most recently as a deputy editor of  iScience. In that role, she led the Earth, Environmental, and Engineering sub-team, where her innate interest in chemistry’s impacts beyond the lab deepened, ultimately leading her to launch Chem Circularity as editor-in-chief.
